Cultural
Constructions

The mission of Cultural Constructions, a project of the BCMA, is to provide an opportunity through concerts and workshops for musical artists and their audiences to experience and learn about music of different cultures. Through a multicultural environment, we aim to promote an understanding and appreciation of cultural differences, to create an interaction between musicians who usually would not interact artistically, and provide a setting to these musicians to reach out to an audience who would not normally be exposed to such music. In accordance with this mission of diversity, both improvised and composed music will be presented. Compositions will be solicited for specific constructed ensembles, while will be sought to allow performers and composers to be fairly compensated for their creative efforts. We are dedicated to presenting concerts that challenge, inspire, and enlighten all its participants.

Funding for Cultural Constructions has been gratefully received from the LEF Foundation and from the Berklee College of Music Alumni Grant Program. Individual donations are welcomed.
